Flash Switcher (2.0.3)
This extension allows you to easily switch from one flash player plugin version to another, or also to remove or save the currently installed plugin (maybe for testing the express install).
Once installed you will find the "flash switcher" icon in the Firefox statusbar at bottom right (and also in the Tools Firefox menu). Click on it and a list of available options will appear.
The extensionhas been tested on the followings Operating System:
- Window XP
- Ubutntu linux
- Mac OSX Tiger and Leopard
Usage
Here some short videos on how to use flash switcher on Ubuntu and OSX. In the future I will provide videos for Windows too.
Updates
The recent Firefox update 3.6 breaks this extension because of some changes in the permissions management.
If you have problems with errors like NS_ERROR_FILE_ACCESS_DENIED remember that this is a limitation of the Operating System, because usually the browser default folder is a system folder.
What you have to do is: uninstall flash player ( you can save it before uninstalling, using flashswitcher ), restart the browser.
Open the flashswitcher settings dialog and choose your user level plugin directoy.

For Mac OSX it is located at /Users/{username}/Library/Internet Plug-Ins
for Windows it is located at: C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\{yourprofile}\Plugins.
This is how the settings should appear on your systems:

Install
This extension is available for Firefox 3.x and above.
I'm sorry but the installer it's a bit large ( 14 Mb ) because it's batteries included :)
That's because within the installer there are a couple of flash player versions for any of the supported OS ( linux,
win and mac )
and because with flash 9 the weight of flash player increased really a lot! ( 11Mb on mac, for example )
